In between posts

I have a post in the works, but I'm waiting on some facts to come to me before I start writing, so this is an interim post because it's been so long since the last one.

Nothing much is going on...I've been working a lot and I have a really important plan to write on Monday, so work's been good but stressful. The team that I'm in charge of is talented and moving right along; it just takes time for them to be at the point that I can really rely on them (even though they're showing a lot of heart), so it'll be stressful for me until then. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I should be working to catch up right now, because my team's behind, but I decided to enjoy the first half of my weekend. I refused to work last night, and I'm not working today. It'll all happen late tomorrow (after da Bears game). And today, Flint and Steph are coming down to visit, so happy birthday to me! I don't know what we're doing, but just hanging out with some friends - friends I have something in common with - is going to be great. We haven't seen them since before the holidays, which is just too long.

Speaking of friends. When I first moved here, I complained for a long time about being so lonely, because I left all my old friends behind. Well, the hole that they filled in my life is still painfully there. Beth's boy Julian just turned 2, and Missy's sugar glider just had a baby. Sue's got to be having her Wally Jr. soon as well. I miss them a ton, every day. However, I'm finally starting to get friends here. There's not one person in my office that I can't get along with, and I really enjoy hanging out with them after work, so it's working out nicely.

Now if Missy, Beth and Sue could just get stationed up here. That's right...I don't care what they want. I care what would make me happy.

I seem to recall asking you to move here just last week and being brutally rebuffed!

It's too cold for you in Portland? Next week, your high temps are ranging from high forties to low fifties, and well, so are mine! Move here now!

And yeah, Jorge, it was Beth and Donte's birthday two weeks ago and I totally spaced.
