I want to start a social network

Everyone's doing it. I wrote at least two plans for internet-based social networks just this week, and I usually do at least one per week over the past few months. It's a trend and it's out of hand. Don't people realize that they're just being dreamers? I dream up stuff like this all the time. I don't go out and ask for a loan to actually start it, even though I tend to have pretty good ideas, if I do say so myself. I don't start a social network, because I realize that there's a lot that goes in to a business like this and that I have nothing to offer but an idea. Starting a business isn't just about having a good idea. You have to have some skill to offer, some capital, and a lot of luck (in my opinion). Maybe people who are more business-minded than I view it differently, but that's how I see it.

So in the spirit of further driving this ridiculous industry into the ground, I think I should start a social network. Maybe I'll start ten of them! I think we should all do it, just for the irony of it. Apparently, it's that easy. All you have to have is an idea, after all. I say "pshaw!" to the notion that you need any design skills or business sense to do this. Who's with me?! I'm going to call my business "Craig's and my list." See? See? It's clever. It's like a combination between craigslist and myspace. Maybe you can start one and call it Craigspace. Be sure to capitalize the S because you can't have a successful internet business unless at least one letter in the middle of the title is capitalized, and you also have to shove two words together without a space. Them's the rules. Next, I'll start one called GoogleTube. It'll be like Google and YouTube put together. No, no, see, it's not the same as Google Video. This one would be different from both Google Video and YouTube, because it's me that owns it. Someone else can start YouGoogle. It'll be a search engine that revolutionizes the internet. In fact, it won't just revolutionize it, it'll start a whole new one! Fantastic! You're a genius, sir! Pats on the back all around! Man, my back hurts.

Maybe if you take it to another country, add some nationalism to the pitch maybe even including it in the name...You just might have something there!

So what I'm hearing is that you have a desire to both actively promote *and* profit from the degradation of human interpersonal relations by giving people even more reasons not to leave their computers...

Evolution dictates that we will be losing our legs in the near future. Mart carts for all! Not that we'll ever go anywhere. Time to invest in colostomy bags...

Am I hearing that at least two of you didn't pick up on my sarcasm and think that I actually want to start a social network?

Phew. I was being sarcastic. This was borne out of my frustration that people think it's a good idea.
