Thomas Jefferson thought it up

So it turns out that I'm not so smart. I'm about the millionth person to suggest that the western states, or certain parts of the western states should not be part of the union. This notion began with Thomas Jefferson, who originally thought that Cascadia should be an independent republic. Then there's the State of Jefferson and a couple of others. I still think secession is a great idea. Impossible, of course, but it's a wonderful dream. Imagine not being responsible for the wars that have gone on. Imagine not being a citizen of the most hated country on the planet.

Anyway, all that's been new with me lately is that I've been sick but the antibiotics I got yesterday seem to be working, I've been working a lot of overtime and will probably do the same next week, and my parents are coming to visit at the end of the month. I'm very excited to see them again. I think the last time I saw them was in July of 2005. The same goes for my brother and one sister. I could rant and rave about my thoughts on that issue, but I'll spare you all because I have to head to work.

I took my first antibiotic last night and by this morning I felt at least 95% better. But being a good antibiotic-taker, I will complete the prescription.

Can we add Baja to this proposed state?

Absolutely.

I notice that the actual party that wants to secede thinks the boundary should be only as far south of San Francisco, but screw those hippies. They think smoking should be allowed in public places so as to not infringe on the rights of smokers, who in my opinion should have no rights to limit my freedoms, which they do every time they light up.

Of course you can join! I, unlike those hippies in the party, do not believe that we should shut people out. I understand that our resources are scarce, but I think we'd lose a lot of people if we left the union. Mainly hicks. There would be lots of room for well-educated people who realize what's going on.
