***Post Edit: I've never edited a post this way, that I can remember, but this warrants an addition to the post below. This weekend, Nathan and I pledged to clean our house. Yesterday, of course, we ended up napping instead, because sleeping > cleaning. Today, however, cleaning was at the top of the list. After our morning walking of Max through the park, we realized it was unbearably hot, so we thought it would be smart to go to the movies during the hot part of the day. We just got back from the movies (An Inconvenient Truth. It was good; I'll blog about it after I've processed it more...probably), and it is even hotter than it was before. I'm about to strip my clothes off and go downstairs and sit in front of the open window, under the fan. It's so hot, that when I just let Max out, Girlkat tried to go play outside too (she's doing that more and more now, but never without us watching her) she instantly jumped back inside once her feet touched the patio. So I checked the weather and it was 101 today. I know that's nothing for everyone who typically reads this blog, but for us, this is unbearable. So here I am doing what I said I wouldn't do this past winter when it rained on me for 8 months...complaining about the weather.
I'm melting!!
Not a lot has been going on lately. We've been very busy, and have been feeling very lazy as well. I just don't like doing stuff that takes energy.
I start training on my new section at work tomorrow. I'm really excited, and I hope it works out well. This is only going to fuel my business planning tendencies, however. I'll be able (eventually) to figure out what businesses would be most profitable to start in my neighborhood. I'll also probably get access to our special market research software that costs money to use.
Last night, Nathan and I went to see the Briggs and Tiger Army at the Wonder Ballroom. It's my new favorite club in Portland. There's no smoking, it's pretty, there are beefy staff guys making sure it's safe, and they have a seperate "over 21" area on the floor; which tends to be less populated than the all ages side, yet is still exciting. There was also a poster advertising a show there in the next couple of weeks: The Reverend Horton Heat, with, you guessed it, the Horrorpops! I'll be going to that show.
The opening band was the Black Rose Phantoms, and I really liked them. They're a psychobilly band from Long Beach; they had a great drummer (well, everyone in the band was great, but I gravitate toward the drumming), and they had great showmanship. I didn't know that you could do showmanship stunts using an upright bass. Apparently, you can.

Feeling lazy? You need a hand to ass energy transfer!
101 without A/C would pretty well blow. It was 113 here yesterday, but then again, just about everything is air conditioned....
The first summer I lived in Washington it got super hot like that for a week and you couldn't find fans or A/C units in any store.
I'm with you on the melting part. Its like 95 and my ass is wilting...hey, maybe thats good?
