lately, i haven't been updating my blog much, and it's been for a reason. a stupid reason, but a reason nonetheless. i've been on the job hunt and didn't want to talk about it until i got a job. so today, i got a job. my non-technical job title is "speed mouser, fu manchu cut and paster", and my official title is "management and marketing writer". so that's that. i'm a ninja writer. i get to dress down, work downtown and i get paid almost as much as i wanted (there's a review in three months). there are chances to move up in the company, and i work in a great old building with high ceilings, hardwood floors, exposed brick, and the oldest elevator i've ever been in. my coworkers are young and not uptight (unlike the last places i've worked). now, if i can get them to raise my pay by a dollar or five, this job will kick teaching's ass 6 days out of the week and twice on sunday.
on a sad note, this means i have to quit the bakery. not a big problem...they weren't paying me.

yay! when do you start? was it the letter you wrote? or did the other person totally suck?
i started yesterday, and i think i only got the job because the first person must not have wanted it. what an eeediot! it's pretty easy so far. and easy = fun, usually.
oh, and just cuz they're not there on sunday, doesn't mean there's no work. when i was teaching, i worked about 12 hours a day 5 days a week, and a couple hours each weekend day.
