top fives

first off, i would like to apologize to dexter for the concert i put him through last night. i'm really upset that they put on such a miserable show, and i had no idea it would be so hippiefied. and to the rest of you, no i don't want to talk about it.
i'll change the subject.
on sean's blog, he did a top five things he likes and dislikes about phoenix, so since i'm leaving the area soon, i thought i'd do the same thing here.
top 5 things i like about virginia:
1. so many of my friends live here
2. i've never lived in a place where every punk band stops. i've never been to so many concerts in my life
3. the radio station here has a punk show
4. even though i've had to reduce the asking price, i'm going to make a lot of money off this house. the real estate market here is awesome for a seller, owner or agent.
5. ok, i'm tapped. i'll just re-iterate that having such close friends here is the greatest thing ever. i learned when i moved away from my friends in alabama the value of having them close by.
top 5 things i hate about virginia
1. while this doesn't have the same connotation to me that it did before i moved here, it's on the east coast. i've never wanted to be on this side of the country.
2. it's so sprawling. i swear that every time i drive to beth's house, it's about 50 miles one way. missy is about ten miles away, and sue is about fifteen miles away in the opposite direction
3. the traffic here is horrible and so are the drivers. granted, most of them aren't native virginians, but they've all adapted to the way virginians drive. even i have. i don't bother trying to let people merge, because no one trusts virginia drivers enough to take the chance. and if someone waves thank-you for letting them merge, you won't see a virginia license plate on their car. and there's no good public transportation. this is too populated an area to be properly transported by buses that stop every half hour.
4. southern state, east coast attitude. people here are dumb as bricks, and as rude as if they had something to be proud of.
5. it's really ugly here and very ghetto. most of the houses are small brick ranches built in the sixties, and there are little pockets of ghetto mixed in everywhere. and it's southern style ghetto too. it's dirty. and soul-less.
