home again home again

we're back in virginia! i have to admit it's good to be back...especially with everything we've got to do and everything that's going on.
the volkswagen needs a lot of work, not surprisingly, and it's going to have to be done before we try to take it to colorado. it made it about 15 hours from mobile to virginia like a champ, but that doesn't mean it's not hurting. it's still the best answer to what we need this summer. does anyone know how i can make stickers for it? can you buy sticker paper for your printer? feel free to make suggestions for stickers i should make. right now, i'm planning the following: one that has an arrow and says "pass on this side", a picture of that hippie teacher from beavis and butthead with a "no" symbol superimposed on him, and one that says "anti-hippie bus". of course, i'll get another casualties sticker at the shows we're seeing this week. we packed away the other ones we got (oops).
we're still not sure what to do about a computer this summer. we really want that apple laptop, but i got to thinking that i'm not sure i want to take a top of the line machine on the road with us camping across country in a 1985 volkswagen camper. maybe we should get smoething cheap that will do the job right now and then get a nice computer when we settle down. what do you guys think?
today is the 18th. nathan becomes a civilian the 27th. that means about ten days to see all my friends before we head out to colorado to camp with those losers. we'll be back of course; since we don't yet have an offer on the house, we can't just leave virginia for good yet. we have to be here for closing, so i don't know what's going to happen after we get back from colorado yet. when we finally do begin our journey "underway" as nathan calls it, we expect to visit most of you that don't live in virginia. kirsten's wedding is at the end of june, and sometime after that, we'll head out west probaby taking I10 across; meaning we can visit biff, sean, jorge, and my brother and sister in california. then we'll visit oregon and washington, and probably decide after that. oh, and before all that, we might go to michigan. nathan really wants to go there. and you know me, i go where the husband tells me to. or where the navy tells him to go. that's how i ended up in virginia.
