we had a great time last night at the first of two casualties shows. it was at this small club in virginia beach. the club was ok. the smallest kid there looked to be about 4, had a spiked collar and a mohawk. there were three opening bands. none of them were that bad, but all of them had this annoying "punker-than-thou" attitude that always pisses me off. who are they to judge? just some local bands with black eyeliner who claim to be better than the band they're opening for, while playing iron maiden covers. i was glad when they were all done and the casualties finally came on. they played a sort of short set, but it was awesome. nathan spent most of the time in the pit and i stayed on the risers because there were about 5 aggressive, meathead marines there who were picking fights, and i didn't want to be near them. navy sucks, six days left.
i said hi to that kid who does the punk show, because we're leaving and i'll never get to listen after this weekend. they should really get their station online so i can listen wherever i end up.
we're going to richmond tonight to see the casualties again. i hope it's just as much fun as last night, minus those bad opening bands. the briggs opened for them on the west coast; why couldn't they have come here too? nathan has a job interview in new york at the end of the month (the job isn't in new york) and he could see the casualties with the unseen if he were to stay the night. i don't know if he will.
the house hasn't sold yet, but i think we're getting close. lots of people are coming to see it, and people seem a lot more interested at this price.
