I'm here and alive

Well, it looks like my attempt to start blogging more often failed. Two months since last post? Holy heck. I've never gone that long without posting. So, what I've been up to is...being very busy. My garden is coming along nicely, the Taxpayers play occasionally, and I'm taking a much more active role in cooking every night and in learning drums. I guess the easiest way to update you guys on the events of the last few months is to do it pictorially. So, since early May, I attended a punk rock homecoming event for the Taxpayers' return from tour:

I'm taking a long weekend this week to go camping up in the Hoh Rainforest. The original plan was to go to the Redwoods, but since they're on fire, we changed our destination. Hopefully, I'll get tons of great pictures of the Olympic Peninsula on our vacation.

Another development is that I've decided to get chickens. Lots of people in Portland keep chickens in their backyards and I can't wait to have eggs as fresh as the ones I remember eating in Greece. There's nothing better. I want to get one each of these three breeds:

Hey, glad your back! I say totally go for chickens. Fun stories and the fresh eggs are totally worth it :)

Hi! I've been wanting chickens, too. Here's a link to your new favorite magazine: www.backyardpoultrymag.com.

I miss you.

One of my best friends in Oklahoma raised show chickens. All sorts of fancy types. It was obnoxious. Even more obnoxious than my other friend who raised show pigeons. Oh, and I found out that after I left, my other friend was named "Miss Chick" in the "Rooster Day Parade."

Incidentally, the chicken shows were always in conjunction with rabbit shows.

Wasn't this comment worth reading?

I was going through your picasa gallery... Marla's growing up! And what in the world were you doing to poor max with that bear head costume and wings? haha. Oh yeah, I forgot you told me about your hardwood floors, they look really nice!

I started my summer class this week. I'll try to give you a call one of these days, or you call me. :) Nice chickens! I'll have my own, whenever I get a yard.
