A sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach

Today on the bus ride home, there was a police obstruction in our pathway. This was right outside the Powell's book store's online retail warehouse. I guess a car had hit a cyclist a short while before. When I saw the bike lying on its side, my stomach hit the floor. I was feeling pretty good before that because I had a really good day, but now I feel miserable. The bike's lights were still on and flashing. The cyclist was trying to be visible, but it's been pouring rain for days now and it was dark at the time (most likely).

I'm off to check the Portland cyclists' website to see if they know about it yet.
Oh, and I voted today.

Yeah, I wrote to the bikeportland.org folks about it. I hope the cyclist is ok...or at least not dead.

I had a brief moment of panic when I saw the bike, but then I remembered that Nathan had no reason to be in that part of town, and also the bike was nothing like his. So that was only momentary.

I've been around, just lazy. My parents were in town as well, so I was hanging out with them, mostly.
