This afternoon, an incident at the bus stop inspired me to poll you guys. Here's the story:
I was sitting on my usual bench, watching for my bus. I noticed a man walking towards, me and he was kind of looking at me. When he got in closer range, he clapped his hands twice, pointed at me and said "You're lookin' good, babe!" Not quite sure what the proper response to that was, I chose the gracious smiling and thanking route.
At the time he complimented me, I was chewing the cord to my headphones, and wearing a windbreaker with an obvious tear on the pocket, jeans, and boots. So here's the poll.
What's wrong with this picture:
A) the fact that I wonder just how bad I looked to warrant being made fun of.
B) the fact that I wonder just how crazy he was to think I was lookin' good.
C) the fact that I thanked him.
D) the fact that I pondered this incident long enough to make up a poll.
E) the fact that I like compliments from crazy strangers.
F) all of the above
G) the fact that this man was obviously crazy.
H) a society that raises us to think that people who compliment strangers heartily on the street must be either crazy, making fun, or behaving inappropriately.

I) Unwarrented poll. Don't worry so much about how you look/what ppl think. Go on about your lives.
That's like telling a dog to quit licking his paws. It's not enjoyable; it's a compulsion. But you are right, as always.
Stop hitting on my wife, bus stop dude.
oh yeah, he had to have been at least a little loony.
You need someone taken out Nate.....I'm your man!
