so what's the catch?

today i worked my second day at the bakery. just like yesterday, today was fun, challenging work. the staff was very friendly, the work was rewarding, the food was great, and i thoroughly enjoyed being there all day long. i could feel myself starting to bond with the job the same way i did when i worked at peaches (the best job i'll ever have).
the depressing thing is that even though i could see myself joining that company (if offered a job), working as a baker will not pay me enough. the workers there aren't supposed to work overtime, and the hourly rate just isn't enough to pay the bills.
why do all the great jobs, the ones that give me a sense of belonging and accomplishment, not pay enough? that's not the only job that i could see myself doing for a very long time. that's not the only company i've ever felt comfortable with. but every time i find a place i think i could fit in, it doesn't matter, because it won't meet my financial needs.
why does every job have to have a catch?
