the memoirs of an uneventful couple of days

sorry i've been such a bum about posting lately. i'll blame it on nathan. he gives me the beats every time i try to go near a computer.
not a whole lot has been going on actually. before i made the donuts, flint and stephanie came over to visit and we had a blast. it's so good to hang out with friends. i've been so lonely since we got here. all my friends are scattered now, and so am i. i mean, i love portland, but there are two things that suck. 1. my friends aren't here and 2. there are SO MANY hippies here, it's unbelievable. maybe it was stupid of me, but i really didn't expect this. and they're the worst type of hippie, worse than the college know-it-all hippies. cartman didn't even know about this brand, but they're the trust fund hippies. which means they are rich enough to buy the houses in the good neighborhoods and raise property values. bastards.
anyway, enough about that. lately, i've been unpacking constantly. i've read a couple of books and spend much less time in front of the t.v. now that we cut off the cable. it makes me very happy. maybe i'll even get smarter. however, nathan's out of town today, and since he's been such a slavedriver, i don't think i'll do too much work today. i have a couple of things to do outside the house, and i will unpack some more, but i will also read, watch t.v. and play video games as well. maybe even watch a movie.
the day before yesterday i had gotten a foot-long sandwich from subway and was saving it for both lunch and dinner while i unpacked. i finally got hungry and went to get my sammich and it was nowhere to be found. i screamed for nathan, thinking for a second that he might be the culprit (although i knew deep down it wasn't him). he laughed and said it wasn't him. that's right...it was max. a whole footlong sub! gone. no crumbs, no nothing. i screamed for max and he didn't make a peep. i ran upstairs with the wrapper and he looked mighty sheepish. he was sitting on my bed and he ducked his head down, held his ear to the side (like in his christmas card...that's his sheepish look) and wagged just the tip of his tail at me. so i screamed at him for a few minutes about "what am i going to eat" and "a whole footlong?" and then shut the door on him, went to get some mexican, came home and ate it and then let him out. for those of you who don't know, being locked up is the worst thing you can do to a dog.
his stomach was so upset it literally meowed all night.
speaking of things that meow, i'm going to VA on the 16th - 23rd to get my cat. anyone who's still there, i wanna see you. i'll drive to SC straightaway to see the polsons, and then come back up. we should all have dinner at katana's. i miss leo something fierce.

Steph has also expressed an interest in getting together more often, which is cool with me - I don't seem to socialize at all outside of school anymore these days.

We'll have to scheme up some interesting weekends, and start hitting the coast range or something once the weather lightens up. We're always up for some good woods meandering.

absolutely...sounds great. of course, if i start working soon, weekends are going to become scarce for me, but until then, i propose one or two weekends a month. we can alternate which one of us comes up, meaning next time it's me and nathan's turn to come see you guys. maybe we can go to poulsbo like i suggested before and go scare kimmi out of his EQ-induced hermitage.

hey, I know how you feel about the lack of nearby friends. I have been missing mine for the last 2 years and find it difficult to arrange the time and money to visit like a proper civilized person. We are close enough that we could hang out or just bitch at each other.
As far as the plague of hippies goes, just chase after them with a bar of non-sandlewood soap and a hamburger. If that does not work you can always scream at the top of your lungs "watch out for the brown acid!'

hahaha.
i'm not sure if our plans for this weekend are going to work out. i've gotta be here on thursday for a couple of appointments, but maybe i'll still try to come up. it depends on if nathan says that's ok. he's the one that has to drive up there, and if he has to do it twice in one week, he'll probably say no.
