we spent yesterday doing things to the new house. i started painting, and nathan spent the whole day making trips to and from the storage unit. it took me longer to get everything prepped than i had anticipated, and i still have more areas to put masking tape on. i've almost totally primed the kitchen. it's going to be a bright, but not obnoxious yellow, and the rest of the living area is a much lighter shade of yellow: almost a cream color. i think it'll go well with our couches and the fireplace marble, if not the carpet. the carpet doesn't matter because eventually, i'll rip it out and put in hardwood (probably laminate). max spent the day freaking out quietly and meeting his new backyard. he hates going there because not only does he have to drive, but we always take this treacherous winding mountain pass to get there instead of taking the highway (which makes the trip safer, uglier and longer). whatever it does for the trip, it scares the heck out of the dog. also, yesterday i let him out to pee and shut the sliding glass door on him. i laid down for a break, knowing he was just going to interrupt me when he wanted back in. i heard this incredibly loud crash and looked up to see max rolling on the ground. he hadn't known the patio door was shut (his fault, because the dummy saw me shut it) and ran into it full speed. it was funny, but he was so upset over it, it was more sad. but you guys can enjoy that thought. especially if you're one of the guys he's nutsed before.
so today we're going back out there for more painting and moving.
