open for suggestion

so nathan and i are both in the market for life's callings...
anyone got any suggestions?
here are our criteria:  we want to be rich, and not have to work.
what's the matter?  can't match both criteria?  oh well, that's a shame...
we'll now open the floor to all suggestions.  seeing as how the people that can read this know us best (possibly better than we know ourselves) i might count on you guys for some help here.
all i want to hear from you is: "i'm on the monstertrucker".

aight,... I'm on the monstertrucker...

Now, I think you have to start by defining work. "doing stuff" is okay, as long as you like doing it and then it isn't *work*, right? Well, that's what I think anyway.

I'm thinking you could form a punk band and become rich and famous and not exactly be working. Of course if you don't like the touring part and it seems like work, you could just hang out in the studio ripping tracks. Like, be the Steely Dan of punk.

the problem with being in a punk band, anonymous, is that if one is completely devoid of songwriting ability (insert any lame joke you want about punk rock here...trust me, they can write better songs than i can) it just doesn't work...honestly. even the worst band ever had more ability than i do.
by the way, if your only options are christina or anonymous, then in your message, write your name.
but keep playing!

Welp, the only other thing I can think of is day trading, but that takes a little bit of money to start out with. There is a little formula for it even.

I can't recall the name of the software right now, but it's about $3,500. Yes, that's a lot but, it pays for itself quickly. Then you need a brokerage account (e-trade, ameritrade, whatever,... whichever floats your boat... or submerses it, whatever your case) and a "data feed" from the NYSE which is about $35/mo.

I know this sounds outrageous, but all you have to do is pick a few tickers and point the software at them. It graphs out the buying and selling price, taking into consideration the volume of trading. At a certain point on the graph, you click on "buy" and buy the stocks. You set up the software to sell at either some profit point (not a good idea, that could take forever or never happen) or at the next profit point. It does it and presto you have made some money.

Now, I'm not going to tell you some outrageous story, but after I looked into it, I decided to take a risk. I plopped the cost of the software onto a credit card (ouch, and yes, stupid). I figured it would work and pay for itself before I got the bill, or I would/should be punished by paying interest on a dumb purchase.

That was 3 weeks ago and while I haven't made a killing, I have almost made enough to pay for the software. I will have to pay off only part of the credit card this month and I haven't made back the money for the data feed or my e-trade account. I figure that at worst case that will happen in the second month. After that, I need to make enough to pay for the data feed and e-trade and the rest is profit.

The trick could be in figuring out which stocks to buy. I have friends who work in areas near bio-tech and aerospace, so I just look at companies I hear them talking about. Sure, a lot of them don't fit the profile for me to work with, but enough have so far. The software (what *is* the name of that stuff??) explains it all, in a simple enough way for even me to follow.
